but the green plants I have been gaily chopping the leaves off to eat as cabbage (and very nice it was too) are actually purple sprouting broccoli. Nice sturdy specimens too with lots of shoots on them.
Every time I've planted it before, the yield has been spectacularly crap off little spindly plants. Just hope I can keep the chickens off it till it's ready to pick.
